The first test was with cat odor. We purposely left a room with an unchanged litter box for a few days. Keep in mind that this room was not ventilated, so you can imagine the smell after a couple days. We used the Oreck Tower Air Purifier, and believe us when we say it snatched that bad cat smell from the air like a magnet. We left it running on maximum (there are three speeds) and non-quite mode. The smell had vanished within one hour. This leads us to conclude in this particular Oreck Air Purifier review that this was hands down the best yet.

Our next stress test was with cigarette smoke. This is something that never leaves the room, as it can get into clothes, carpet, even the walls. We did the same test. In the same room, we left a cigarette smoldering in an ashtray, one after another, for an hour.

First, we must admit that the Oreck Air filter didn’t remove a hundred percent of the smell, there was still some lingering. But we only ran the purifier for an hour, and we conclude in this Oreck Air Purifier review that had we left it running overnight, the smell would have most likely vanished.

Keep in mind that these tests of the Oreck Air Purifier were only to test smells and odors. There are other things in the air that the superior technology of this device removes that you can’t smell
